Finally had shifter replaced in my 90 Miata. Learned an expensive ($400+) lesson not to slam shifter into park because you are stuck in traffic jam on PA Turnpike. After replacing shifter I had the trans fluid changed. The transmission was working fine but after getting the fluid changed it now shifts like silk. It was the first time I changed fluid. After 26 years, 1 month and 7 days I finally watched the speedometer roll to 50,000 miles last week.
