Join Anne and I on a back roads trip from Clinton New Jersey to the Walpack Inn located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area. This 75 mile route was designed to take advantage of all of the natural terrain features I could find between the start and finish. You can expect mountains, ridges, grand valley vistas, small erosion cut river gouges, forests and of course the roads we love. Miles of twisty undulating back roads.
Lunch will be at the WalPack Inn located at Walpack Center, NJ. The Inn opened in 1947 and it features American entrees with homemade bread in a rustic country setting. It is a unique restaurant that reminds me of a hunting lodge in the middle of the forest. In the winter the fire place is inviting displaying hunting trophies around the bar. The dining room is a large green house with windows that take full advantage of the meadow surrounding forest and mountains and deer can often be seen feeding from the grain put there to tempt them to come within view. The menu has steaks, burgers, seafood, salad bar, and deserts. I suggest that you visit their web page to see the menu at http://www.thewalpackinn.com. The club hasn’t visited the Inn for quite a while. I think you will enjoy it.
We will meet at the park and ride in Clinton NJ 08809 at 10 AM and depart at 10:30 AM after a brief driver’s meeting. Please e-mail me at amaberry1@verizon.net or call me at 973-744-7346 by Sunday, July 5th so I can confirm our reservation at the Inn.
Anne and I hope you will join us for a fantastic Miata day with beautiful views and exciting rural roads. - Paul Nahodyl
