Miatas on the Back of the Dragon Season 10!!

MBOD#10 for short!! Wow!! 10 years of hosting this event for Autism Awareness. Great roads, great food, great people and a wonderful cause. This is a Fundraising Event, and the registration fee and raffle monies go to a local Autism Society in the area of Country Roads Miatas.

Ground Zero is at Fairfield Inn & Suites Wythville, VA. 200 Marriot Way. There will be a discount for your room when you CALL and make reservations. By all means you can stay elsewhere, there are plenty of options in the area. As soon as you decide if you will be joining, I highly suggest making reservations, so as to have a place to stay. This time of year, in Wytheville is very popular with it being the height of leaf season.

    Colossus of Roads 2012

This run, based on the 2012 version of the Colossus of Roads created by John and Carolyn Ketwig, will begin at McDonald's, Columbia, NJ. The route heads north into Sussex county exploring curves and elevation changes before heading south toward the break. After the break we will wind our way through the countryside of Warren County on our way to Washington, NJ for lunch.

The route explores the farmlands and fun roads of the county with a few interesting sites. John & Carol had some favorite roads with unique names and some unique road elements (bridges?) that will not disappoint.  Enzo's Pasta Grill in Washington, NJ will be our target for the end .

    Scenic & Spooky North Jersey

Join us for a 75-mile autumn haunt that climbs from the banks of the Delaware clear across the New Jersey Highlands. We gather in White Township and head northeast into the shadow of Jenny Jump State Forest, brushing past the infamous Shades of Death Road a stretch that has earned its name in local legend several times over.

From there the route threads the wooded back roads of Warren and Sussex Counties through Newton and Sparta before climbing into Passaic County. Expect the good stuff: better than thirty genuine corners, tight forest canopy, and long open ridgeline runs. The final third turns lakeside as we trace Warwick Turnpike, Marshall Hill Road through West Milford, and the Greenwood Lake Turnpike past Ringwood State Park.

We finish on the water at D'Boathaus on Greenwood Lake for lunch - waterfront seating, cold drinks, and a well-earned end to the morning's run.
