    Colossus 2011 Revisited

This run, based on the 2011 version of the Colossus of Roads created by John and Carolyn Ketwig, will begin at Panera Bread in Mansfield, NJ. This classic run has been updated and will be lead by long-term member Gabor Kiss. We will wind our way through the countryside of Warren County on our way to Washington, NJ for lunch.

The route explores the farmlands and fun roads of the county with a few interesting sites on the way like Merrill Lake. John & Carol had some favorite roads with unique names and some unique road elements (bridges?) that will not disappoint.  Enzo's Pasta Grill in Washington, NJ will be our target for the end .

The tour will gather at 9:30 and depart at 10:00 as usual. For questions contact Curt at csprings52@gmail.com.

We will offer 2 registration options, there will be written directions you can print at home created from the route planning tool that are several pages long if necessary.

Follow the leader – run with the large group GPS Routes will be provided for reference.

Follow the directions – link to the Rallista App. We will also provide a GPX file if you know what to do with that. Form small groups or run by yourself. These drivers will leave 15 min before the large group.

    Scenic & Spooky North Jersey

Join us for a fall adventure beginning in the quiet historic village of Hope, NJ, at the Hope Cafe. We ill be winding northeast through Warren, Sussex, and Passaic Counties on a scenic and slightly spooky route. This drive blends rolling farmland, wooded backroads, and lakeside stretches, featuring plenty of haunted folklore, including nearby Shades of Death Road and the ghostly legends of the West Milford area.

Our route travels along Warwick Turnpike into Hewitt, continues through West Milford via Marshall Hill Road, and then loops toward Ringwood before finishing lakeside in Hewitt. Expect gentle elevation changes, twisty forest sections, and panoramic lake views.

We’ll conclude the run with lunch at D’Boathaus Restaurant on Greenwood Lake, featuring waterfront views and relaxed dining to wrap up the morning’s drive.

We will offer 2 registration options, there will be written directions you can print at home created from the route planning tool that are several pages long if necessary.
