We will be getting together for our Annual Meeting and Picnic on the first Sunday in May. The annual meeting will start at 10:30 am. This year the venue has changed. Our new site is the West Picnic Field, located in the Mercer County Park, 1668 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ. The park offers a beautiful pavilion overlooking the lake. In addition, there is more than ample parking available at this scenic site.
We are also welcoming a new caterer, Buzzetta’s Festival Food. The menu for this years event includes hamburgers/cheeseburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken and Italian style sausage with peppers and onions and of course sides. Lunch will be served from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm providing ample time to enjoy your meal. There will also be water and soda available.
This year Del Val will be sponsoring a food drive and fundraiser at the picnic. We will be supporting “Move for Hunger” - a local nonprofit. I encourage you to be generous and bring plenty of nonperishable food items as your “entry fee” to the picnic. The food collected will go to the Monmouth Ocean Food Bank.
Move for Hunger will also provide added excitement with a corn hole tournament. The proceeds from this tournament will be split 50/50 and all monies collected by Move for Hunger will go towards their efforts to feed the hungry in our local area and throughout America.
As an added bonus, one of our members, Jamie Longmuir, will be holding a waterless car wash demo at the picnic. Jamie represents “Croftgate, USA a 100% made in the USA and 100% ECO friendly manufacturer of waterless wash products. Jamie will have several products available for demonstration and well as for sale.
Event “T” shirts are available as a pre-order with your registration on our website www.delval.org.
Be sure to register by April 1st. For questions please contact Tom at president@delval.org. This is important because the caterer requires a headcount in order to have sufficient food. As always, the picnic is “free” to members. That being said, I do encourage you to fill your trunks with non perishable food items to support the food bank that provides to those who are less fortunate.
I encourage you to purchase an event “T” shirt…….or two or more……and join the corn hole tournament. I know a good time will be had by all.
Gozoomn,
Tom Kilduff, President
