Serving Miata Owners in the Delaware Valley Region
Join Anne and I on August 6, 2017 to see the Awksht Fescht (October Fest) antique car show in Macungie PA. There will be more than 1000 cars of every description for us to look at. You can look for pictures of last year’s show on line. It’s truly unbelievable!
To get us warmed up for the show I planned a short 50 mile run that will end near Macungie for lunch. While this run may be short it is not short on the things we look for on a run. It’s one of my favorite runs that I will lead this year for views and very diverse terrain.
We will be driving through the Lehigh Zoo on a one-way single lane road. You will be amazed at the views. A ford, an Elk and Bison range can all be viewed from the road. The elevation change between the ridge line and the creek is more than 200 feet with very steep slopes dropping off into the valley.
The ford is a concrete road that crosses the Jordan creek. It’s basically a big puddle only 2 or less inches deep and it has been a feature at the Zoo for 50 years. During my planning trips this winter the water in the creek has never been a problem. Our precious Miata’s will not be harmed and only the tires will get wet. There is a bypass if you want to avoid the ford. Since the drive is a loop you can wait at the exit road after the Zoo parking lot and rejoin the group at the end of the loop. I strongly suggest that you consider joining me on the loop.
The views are great! Join us; I think you’ll love it!
