Join Anne and I to see the Wheels of Time custom car show in Macungie, PA. There will be more than 1000 hot rods and custom cars of every description for us to look at. You can look at pictures of last year’s show on line. If you like chrome, big engines and custom cars, this is the show you shouldn’t miss. It’s truly unbelievable!
To get us warmed up for the show I planned a short 45 mile run that will end near Macungie for lunch. This run travels east from Bethlehem with views from the mountains of Bethlehem, Easton and Philipsburg. The urban views however, are only a very small part of the run. We will travel along the Delaware River for several miles before turning into the back country. Where we will come upon the little cross roads settlement of Durham. During the Revolutionary war Durham manufactured cannon balls at the Durham furnace. Boat manufacturing was developed to ship the cannon balls to Philadelphia. Durham boats were also used by Washington to cross the Delaware River in 1776 to attack the Hessians in Trenton. We will pass a replica boat in Durham that is visible from the road.
This will be a fun day. I hope that you will join us!
